About Celebration Lures

How We Got Here

It all started at the knee of my father, grandfather and uncles.  They were the BEST fisherman I knew.  They made their own lures, hand carved and hand painted. They were Lo Tech and Proud (to steal a line from friend Alex Bevan). I was always intrigued by the process and that memory was tucked away in the back corner of my brain.  As I got older, I got into rodmaking, but still bought all my lures.  As years passed, I starting making my own lures as well.  Just recently, I was introduced to a fantastic group of folks called Pink Fishing Inc (www.pinkfishing.com).  I have a sister and sister-in-law that survived breast cancer, and are doing well now, Thank You very much.  I was inspired by the late Bob Mollergren after seeing one of his painted lures supporting the fight against breast cancer.  My adventure started as a simple way to help the cause not only to eradicate breast cancer, but help those actively going through breast cancer, and their families.  This will be my third year painting lures and donating them to the cause.  Along the way, someone suggested I paint lures to celebrate other days/events/activities.  Hence the new Celebration Lures was born.  Although not directly Pink Fishing logoed, with all baits that are sold, 40% of the proceeds will be donated to Pink Fishing Inc to fight the good fight.
